A theatrical anime film produced by Nexus. The first movie adaptation of the "The Eminence in Shadow" light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa, published by KADOKAWA. The original series has surpassed 7.8 million copies and spans novels, manga adaptations, and spin-offs. The TV anime aired its first season in 2022 and second season in 2023, also expanding into online gaming, earning high acclaim both domestically and internationally. "Lost Echoes" is set in "Japan," where protagonist Cid Kagenou lived before his reincarnation. After defeating Mordred, a top executive of the Cult, Shadow is pulled through a suddenly opened gate and arrives with Beta in the Japan where he once lived as Minoru Kageno. A world devastated by magical beasts, humanity's last stronghold "Messiah," and a reunion with his former classmate Akane. The story depicts what Shadow will do in his changed homeland. Directed by Kazuya Nakanishi with screenplay by Kanichi Kato and character design by Makoto Iino. The cast features Seiichiro Yamashita as Cid Kagenou/Shadow, Yui Horie as Akane Nishino, Inori Minase as Beta, Yukari Tamura as Yuuka Asakura, and Takehito Koyasu as Mordred.
