A TV anime produced by Gainax Studio, based on the manga by Makoto Isshiki serialized in Kodansha's Young Magazine Uppers (later transferred to Morning), spanning 26 volumes with over 26 million copies in circulation. The story centers on Kai Ichinose, a boy who discovers an abandoned piano in the forest and develops extraordinary talent through self-teaching, along with Sosuke Ajino, a former genius pianist whose career was cut short by an accident, and Shuhei Amamiya, an elite born into a family of pianists. Aired on NHK General from April to July 2018 for 12 episodes. The cast includes Soma Saito as Kai, Junichi Suwabe as Sosuke Ajino, and Natsuki Hanae as Shuhei. Music composed by Harumi Fuuki, with piano performances by world-class pianists including Chopin International Piano Competition winners.
