An anime film, "Space Nanchara Kotetsu-kun: Go Find the Aliens That Snuck Out!," based on the popular web manga "Space Nanchara Kotetsu-kun" by Yuji Nishimura. It is the theatrical version of the TV anime that aired on NHK E-Tele from 2021 to 2024, opening nationwide on September 11, 2026. Directed by Yoshinori Tsutsui with a script by Yoichi Kato, animation production cooperation by Fanworks, and video production by NHK Educational. It is an original story combining re-edited anime footage with live-action space-exploration footage recorded by JAXA and NHK, running about 50 minutes. Kotetsu, a first-year pilot student at the Animal Kingdom Space Academy, hears a rumor that "there might be an alien nearby!?" and sets off on a grand adventure to find it together with his friends. The theme song is "Uchuu no Nanchara Nakama," sung by Shoko Nakagawa. JAXA and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan participate as space cooperation partners.
