The second season of this SF fantasy set in a world where natural fire can no longer be used due to spontaneous human combustion, following the girl Touko and the boy Koushi as they draw closer to the truth of their world. Forces plotting to overthrow the Shinsoku's rule unleash flame demons while lightning cannons are installed across the land, and ominous movements creep toward the capital. Meanwhile, the artificial star 'Yururu Hi,' which had long been drifting through the void, finally returns. Based on the novel by Rieko Hinata, the series features a robust world crafted by directors Junji Nishimura and Mamoru Oshii. The OP theme is 'Hika Rakka' sung by Cocco, and the ED theme is 'Dakishimete' performed by Maaya Sakamoto.
