A theatrical anime based on the novel by Ryoko Shikimura. This coming-of-age story, previously adapted as a live-action film and TV drama, receives its first anime adaptation. The protagonist Etsuko, unable to find something she is passionate about, revives the disbanded rowing club after a chance encounter with transfer student Riina. Five complete beginners push through intense training and take on a rowing tournament, refreshingly portraying the beauty of giving your all. The sense of unity unique to rowing — sweating together with teammates — is the heart of the work's charm. The theme song is 'Sorairo no Mizushibuki' performed by Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora.
