The story begins with Max, a legendary hero who once defeated the Demon Lord and saved the world, having degenerated into a slovenly middle-aged man after years since his heroic tale ended. Before him appears the Demon Lord, who has lost most of his power and revived in a childlike form, declaring 'I shall take care of you!' This comedy depicts the chaotic cohabitation of two once-mighty beings crammed into a tiny one-room apartment. The unique relationship where former enmity transforms into laughter and warmth is the series' charm, offering an offbeat slice-of-life built on a nostalgic RPG-style world setting.
