A TV anime produced by WHITE FOX, based on the game "Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth" (released 2016) by AQUAPLUS, with original work by Amaduyu Tatsuki. The Utawarerumono game series has surpassed 1.2 million copies sold. After the Emperor's death, the nation of Yamato falls into chaos. Princess Anju is accused of attempted poisoning and forced to flee. Oshtor, General of the Right Imperial Guard, exhausts the power of the Akuruka mask and vanishes. Haku receives Oshtor's mask and dying wish, abandoning his life as "Haku" to live as Oshtor. Taking refuge in Ennakamui, Anju aims to reclaim the throne, but one of the Eight Pillar Generals, Raiko, installs a false princess and seizes control. War engulfing all of Yamato begins. 28 episodes. Main cast includes Kentaro Tone as Oshtor/Haku, Risa Taneda as Kuon, Chinatsu Akasaki as Anju, and Inori Minase as Nekone.
