A TV anime produced by Nexus, based on the light novel by Daisuke Aizawa published by KADOKAWA (originating from "Shosetsuka ni Narou"). The series has sold over 6.5 million copies (as of April 2025). A boy who aspired to be "the eminence in shadow" in his previous life is reincarnated as Cid Kagenou. While acting as an ordinary mob at school, he forms "Shadow Garden" and enjoys roleplaying battles against a dark cult—but the evil organization from his "delusions" actually exists. Aired from October 2022 to February 2023 (20 episodes). Cast includes Seiichiro Yamashita as Cid, Asami Seto as Alpha, and Inori Minase as Beta.
