A theatrical anime produced by Science SARU, based on "The Tales of the Heike: The Inu-Oh Chapter" by Hideo Furukawa (Kawade Shobo Shinsha). Domestic box office of approximately 350 million yen (over 7-month extended run). In the Muromachi period, Noh performer Inu-Oh, born with a deformed body, meets Tomona, a biwa player blinded by a curse from Dannoura. They become fast friends and create a revolutionary new "Tale of the Heike" through innovative performance and biwa narration, channeling the voices of restless Heike spirits. Directed by Masaaki Yuasa, screenplay by Akiko Nogi, character concept by Taiyo Matsumoto. Cast includes Avu-chan (Queen Bee) as Inu-Oh and Mirai Moriyama as Tomona.
