A TV anime produced by MAHO FILM, based on the light novel series by Rinne Ishida published under KADOKAWA's B's-LOG Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation by Waka Takase has been serialized in Akita Shoten's Monthly Princess since 2018. The series has surpassed 2.68 million copies in cumulative circulation (including digital editions, as of 2026). The story follows Ko Matsurika, a female official working in the imperial harem of the kingdom of Hakuro, whose special talent is her extraordinary memory — she can perfectly recall the location of items in storage and the contents of books after seeing them just once. When she is assigned as a stand-in practice partner for an arranged marriage meeting, she unexpectedly encounters Hakuyo, the brilliant and handsome emperor of Hakuro. Intrigued by her remarkable memory, Hakuyo takes an interest in her, and the girl who intended to live a quiet, unremarkable life gradually grows into the hope of the nation in this Chinese-inspired Cinderella story.
