Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet is a theatrical anime film produced by TMS/V1Studio. The 24th installment in the theatrical film series based on the manga "Detective Conan" by Gosho Aoyama, serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday. Released April 16, 2021. The original manga has surpassed 250 million copies in worldwide circulation as of October 2021. As Tokyo prepares to host the world's largest sports event "WSG (World Sports Games)," prominent sponsors are kidnapped one after another. The Akai family assembles—FBI agent Shuichi Akai (CV: Shuichi Ikeda), professional shogi player Shukichi Haneda, high school detective Masumi Sera, and the mysterious Mary—as Conan Edogawa (CV: Minami Takayama) confronts the largest-scale case yet, set aboard a vacuum superconducting maglev train connecting Nagoya and Tokyo. Directed by Chika Nagaoka, with music by Katsuo Ono (his final work as film score composer for the theatrical series). Guest voice actress Minami Hamabe also stars. Runtime: 110 minutes. The film earned 7.65 billion yen at the box office, becoming the second highest-grossing Japanese film of 2021.
