A TV anime produced by A-1 Pictures, based on the light novel by Reki Kawahara published by KADOKAWA/Dengeki Bunko. Over 30 million copies in circulation (as of 2020). The final chapter "War of Underworld" of the Alicization arc sees the "Final Load Test" begin in the virtual world Underworld, sparking a massive war between dark forces and the Human Empire. To protect the unconscious Kirito, Asuna descends into Underworld using the super account of the Goddess of Creation Stacia. Sinon and Leafa also join as the Sun Goddess Solus and Earth Goddess Terraria. As Dark God Vecta (Gabriel Miller) targets Alice, a world-scale battle unfolds including a massive invasion by American players. 23 episodes (split-cour).
