A TV anime produced by Geno Studio, based on the manga by Satoru Noda serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump, with over 30 million copies in circulation (as of 2025). Winner of the 2016 Manga Taisho Award and the 2018 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Set in late Meiji-era Hokkaido and Karafuto, the story follows Saichi Sugimoto, a war hero known as "Sugimoto the Immortal," and Ainu girl Asirpa as they compete against Lieutenant Tsurumi's 7th Division and former Shinsengumi vice-commander Hijikata Toshizo for a massive Ainu gold treasure. Season 3 covers the Karafuto arc, where Sugimoto crosses to Karafuto to pursue Asirpa after their separation at Abashiri Prison. 12 episodes featuring Yoshihiro Kobayashi as Sugimoto and Haruka Shiraishi as Asirpa, with music by Kenichiro Suehiro. ©Satoru Noda/Shueisha, Golden Kamuy Production Committee
