A TV anime produced by Passione, based on the sound novel game by Ryukishi07/07th Expansion, with the multimedia franchise surpassing 10 million copies. Set in the fictional village of Hinamizawa in early summer 1983, the story follows Keiichi Maebara who moves from the city and befriends Mion and Shion Sonozaki, Rena Ryugu, Satoko Hojo, and Rika Furude, only to become entangled in mysterious deaths occurring every year during the Watanagashi Festival. "Gou" is a completely new work that initially appears to be a remake but actually depicts events after the original story, with Rika trapped in a time loop once again.
