A TV anime produced by Madhouse. Based on the light novel series by Kouhei Kadono published by KADOKAWA's Dengeki Bunko, with over 4.8 million copies in circulation (as of 2018). The first volume, published in 1998, won the 4th Dengeki Game Novel Grand Prize and is a landmark work that profoundly influenced the light novel genre. When "enemies of the world" appear, a mysterious persona called Boogiepop emerges from within a girl. This ensemble drama follows Boogiepop, dwelling within Touka Miyashita, and the intertwining stories of various youths. Spanning 18 episodes, the anime adapts multiple arcs including "Boogiepop and Others" and "VS Imaginator." Directed by Shingo Natsume with music by Kensuke Ushio.
