The series has surpassed 1.5 million copies (as of 2019). "Kengan Matches" are proxy wars where corporations wager enormous profits, settling business disputes through hired fighters. Kazuo Yamashita, an unremarkable 56-year-old salaryman, is suddenly appointed as a fighter's handler by his company president. Alongside the mysterious fighter Ohma Tokita with overwhelming combat ability, he enters the "Kengan Annihilation Tournament," facing deadly battles against warriors of various fighting styles.
