Violet Evergarden

A TV anime produced by Kyoto Animation, based on the light novel of the same name by Kana Akatsuki (published by KA Esuma Bunko). The story follows Violet Evergarden, a young girl working as an "Auto Memory Doll" (ghostwriter), who lost both arms in the war and now writes letters for various clients while searching for the meaning behind the words "I love you" spoken by her former commanding officer, Major Gilbert Bougainvillea. The series won the first-ever Grand Prize at the 5th Kyoto Animation Awards and aired for 13 episodes.
