This season adapts the Kyoto Impure King arc from the story of Rin Okumura, son of Satan, who aims to become an exorcist. When Rin's secret blue flames are revealed to his Kyoto-born classmates, their trust wavers as they face the Illuminati's plot to resurrect the sealed Impure King.
