KanColle is a TV anime based on the browser game of the same name operated by DMM.com and KADOKAWA GAMES, aired from January 2015. Produced by Diomedéa, the story features "Fleet Girls" (Kanmusu)—personified warships of the former Imperial Japanese Navy—who fight against the mysterious enemy "Abyssal Fleet." With destroyer Fubuki as the protagonist, the series depicts the daily lives and battles of colorful fleet girls including Akagi and Kongo. The anime adaptation of this hugely popular content, which surpassed 4 million registered users since its 2013 launch, drew massive attention.
