Tokyo Ghoul is a TV anime based on Sui Ishida's manga serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine, with over 44 million copies in series circulation (as of 2017). Aired from July 2014, produced by Studio Pierrot, this dark fantasy is set in a Tokyo where man-eating beings called "Ghouls" hide among humans. University student Ken Kaneki, who becomes a half-ghoul after receiving an organ transplant from one, struggles to survive between the human and ghoul worlds. Based at the ghoul-run café "Anteiku," the story unfolds amid conflict with the CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul). 12 episodes.
