A TV anime produced by Studio Pierrot, based on the manga by Toru Fujisawa serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, with over 50 million copies in cumulative circulation. The story follows Eikichi Onizuka, a former legendary biker gang leader from Shonan, who decides to become a high school teacher after graduating from college, dreaming of becoming the "Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)." Assigned as the homeroom teacher of a troubled class at Musashino Holy Forest Academy, Onizuka faces students dealing with bullying, truancy, and deep mistrust of teachers. With his unconventional methods and genuine passion, he gradually wins their hearts.
