Medabots

A TV anime produced by Bee Train, based on Imagineer's Game Boy software series "Medarot" (Medabots). A manga adaptation by Horumarin was also serialized in Kodansha's Comic BomBom. Set in a near future where small AI-equipped robots called Medabots are widespread, the story follows elementary school student Ikki Tenryou as he meets his partner Medabot, Metabee, and grows through "Robattles." The series also depicts their fight against the Rubber Robo Gang. Directed by Tensai Okamura with character design by Masatoshi Tsuji, the series aired 52 episodes on TV Tokyo from July 2, 1999 to June 30, 2000. ©Imagineer, Natsume/NAS, TV Tokyo
