The Legend of Black Heaven

A TV anime produced by AIC and A.P.P.P., based on an original story by Hiroki Hayashi. Oji Tanaka, once famous as "Gabriel Tanaka," the genius guitarist of the popular hard rock band "Black Heaven," now lives a mundane life as an ordinary salaryman. His wife doesn't even know about his glorious past, and she throws away his beloved Flying V guitar as oversized trash. One day, a mysterious beauty named Layla appears at his workplace as a temp worker and approaches him. In truth, Layla is an alien who has discovered that Oji's guitar performance can serve as the energy source for an ultimate weapon in an interstellar war. The series is a human drama depicting how a middle-aged salaryman whose dreams were shattered rediscovers his passion. Directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi, the series aired 13 episodes on WOWOW from April 4 to June 27, 1999. ©AIC/Pioneer LDC
