A TV anime produced by Nippon Animation, based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, with over 84 million copies in circulation. The story follows Gon Freecss, who discovers that his absent father Ging is a legendary Hunter. Determined to find him, Gon sets out to become a Hunter himself, meeting companions Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio during the grueling Hunter Exam. The TV series covers from the Hunter Exam arc through the early Yorknew City arc.
