Based on Hiro Arikawa's bestselling novel series, this Production I.G anime is set in an alternate Japan where censorship has been legalized under the "Media Betterment Act." The "Library Defense Force" stands as the last line of defense for freedom of expression, armed and authorized to protect books from government confiscation. Iku Kasahara, an enthusiastic but clumsy new recruit, joins the elite Library Task Force inspired by a mysterious "prince" who once saved a book for her. Under the strict guidance of instructor Atsushi Dojo, she grows as a soldier while battling the oppressive "Media Betterment Committee." Aired on Fuji TV's "noitaminA" block for 12 episodes.
