The Daughter of Twenty Faces

A TV anime based on the manga by Shinji Ohara, animated by Bones and Telecom Animation Film. Set in post-war Japan, the story follows Chiko, a young heiress of the wealthy Mikamo family. After her parents' death, Chiko is taken in by her aunt and uncle who attempt to poison her to claim the family fortune. She is rescued by the legendary phantom thief Twenty Faces and joins his band of thieves, growing into a resourceful young woman. When Twenty Faces mysteriously disappears, Chiko forms a detective group to uncover the truth behind his legacy. An adventure mystery spanning 22 episodes.
