"Michiko & Hatchin" is an original TV anime produced by Manglobe. It aired from October 2008 to March 2009 on Fuji TV for 22 episodes, directed by Sayo Yamamoto. Set in the fictional South American country of Diamandra, the series is a road movie following the free-spirited Michiko Malandro, who breaks out of prison, and young Hana Morenos (nicknamed Hatchin), who was abused by her foster family. Michiko seeks Hatchin's biological father, Hiroshi Morenos, and the two journey together while evading police and criminal organizations. An ambitious work with Latin music and vibrant visuals.
