An original Sunrise production using characters from "THE IDOLM@STER" game as a basis but reimagined as an entirely different robot anime. It depicts the battles and growth of Haruka Amami and others selected as pilot candidates for humanoid combat machines called "iDOL" to protect Earth from giant meteorites. A unique work adopting a sci-fi robot direction despite bearing the Idolmaster name, produced by the Mai-HiME staff across 26 episodes.
