Set on Roosevelt Island in New York City, four girls who attend the same elite school — Kate, Rose, Rachel, and Claire — wake one morning to find they have no memory of the previous night. Their mutual friend Lise has died under mysterious circumstances. Guided by a mysterious butterfly, the four are led to a shocking revelation about their own existence.
