A historical action anime produced by Gonzo, based on the manga by Nanae Chrono serialized in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade. Set in Kyoto during the Genji era, young Tetsunosuke Ichimura joins the Shinsengumi to avenge his parents, who were killed by Choshu domain samurai. Serving as page to Vice-Commander Toshizo Hijikata, Tetsunosuke grows through interactions with members like Souji Okita and Hajime Saito. Set against historical events of the Bakumatsu period including the Ikedaya Incident and the Kinmon Incident, the 24-episode series portrays a coming-of-age story of bonds and the struggle against vengeance.
