Set on a devastated Mars, the story follows Layla Ashley, a young avenger whose city was destroyed, as she travels between dome cities with puppeteer Volk and the small doll Nei. The truth hidden in Layla's memories and the nature of the Martian rulers known as "Volk" gradually come to light. Directed by Koichi Mashimo of Noir and .hack//SIGN fame, this 13-episode series features a decadent sci-fi setting complemented by Yuki Kajiura's evocative soundtrack.
