A sci-fi anime based on Ryo Mizuno's light novel. When their home planet is occupied by a planetary alliance, military academy cadets take command of the battleship Amaterasu and fight back on their own. The series uniquely incorporates media commentary, with their battles broadcast live by a TV network, blending realistic space combat with the struggles of young soldiers.
