Based on Sho Makura and Takeshi Okano's shonen manga, this TV anime follows Meisuke Nueno, an elementary-school teacher whose left hand bears the sealed power of a demon, as he protects his fifth-grade class from youkai and supernatural incidents. Balancing everyday humour with genuinely frightening monster episodes, it became a touchstone of the 1990s youkai boom.
