A direct sequel OVA to the cyberpunk classic Bubblegum Crisis, set in the near-future Mega Tokyo. With Priss away, the all-female mercenary team Knight Sabers (Sylia, Linna and Nene) take on a new wave of rogue AIs and terrorist threats. The series carries forward the franchise's hardboiled SF action, sleek mecha design and Western-style rock soundtrack while drilling deeper into the personalities and dynamic of the women on the team. Across its three episodes, Bubblegum Crash sustains a deft balance of mecha action and character drama, securing its place as a memorable contribution to the Japanese cyberpunk wave of the late eighties and early nineties.
