Banjo Haran, a wealthy young man who witnesses the Meganoid rebellion on Mars, escapes to Earth carrying off the giant robot Daitarn 3 and a cache of gold. Basing himself in a grand mansion on the outskirts of Sin City, he throws himself, alongside his butler and companions, into the fight against the enemy organization that seeks to remake humanity into the machine-life Meganoids. Distinguished by the stylized flourish of the billionaire, gentlemanly hero declaring 'My name is Banjo Haran' upon each victory, and by a tone mixing comedy with seriousness, it is counted among director Tomino's breakthrough works, a prince-of-good versus evil hero robot anime.
