Broadcast in 52 episodes on the Nippon TV network from December 14, 1965 to November 1, 1967. Osper (voiced by Yoshiko Ota), a psychic boy from the undersea Mu Empire, battles another psychic, the villainous Drome (voiced by Isamu Tanonaka), while preventing evil deeds across Earth in this SF psychic action work. It is an early important example of Tatsunoko Production's full commercial participation in animation work, influencing the company's later lineage including Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. The work was an ambitious effort weaving serious drama and psychic confrontations into children's programming, with its tragic ending leaving a strong impression on young viewers of the era.
