He is inseparable from 'GeGeGe no Kitaro', singing the opening 'GeGeGe no Kitaro' for the 1968 TV series along with the ending 'Kitaro Olympic', and carrying the theme through the 1971 second series and the 1980 film. His distinctive, commanding voice resonated perfectly with the world of yokai, and his rendition is widely recognized as the song that defines the franchise.
