SUPERCAR was a Japanese alternative rock band formed by Koji Nakamura and other members from Aomori Prefecture. Over the course of their career, the group evolved from straightforward guitar rock toward more electronic-influenced sounds, leaving behind a substantial legacy and a strong influence on the Japanese indie scene. The track STORYWRITER from their album HIGHVISION found a second life after the band broke up when it was used as an insert song in the television anime Eureka Seven. Placed within the series' emotional scenes, the song made a powerful fresh impression on both Japanese and international viewers, introducing many new listeners to SUPERCAR's distinctive sound and cementing their status as a touchstone of late-1990s and early-2000s Japanese alternative music.
