ako is a female singer-songwriter working out of the IRORI Records label. Her style combines a hybrid sound that spans jazz, soul, and rock with lyrics and vocals that capture the subtle shifts of emotion, and an experimental spirit often described as a musical melting pot. For 「Turn It Up」, the ending theme of the anime Darwin's Incident, she wrote an ambitious track from the perspective of the organization opposing protagonist Charlie, questioning existing values and voicing a thirst for turning the volume up.
