PENGUIN RESEARCH is a Japanese five-piece rock band led by vocalist Takashi Ikuta and bassist-composer Shota Horie. Horie is also known as the Vocaloid producer kemu and a prolific songwriter for anime and games. Armed with a straightforward rock sound that hurls passionate, direct lyrics and Ikuta's powerful vocals, the band has carved out a firm presence in the anime song scene. They have delivered many rousing theme songs including "Fire and Fear" for Wistoria: Wand and Sword, "Hengenjizai" for Ars no Kyojuu, "Spotlight" for the OVA Magi: Adventure of Sinbad, and "Button" for ReLIFE.
