Music producer, DJ, and songwriter from Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. He formed the unit CAPSULE (later capsule) with vocalist Toshiko Koshijima in 1997, building a distinctive electronic-pop world. As the longtime producer of Perfume, he led a techno-pop revival, and from 2011 he produced Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, generating worldwide hits. For the theatrical One Piece Film Z, he produced the OP Kaido, opening the high-seas adventure with a propulsive electronic sound. His honors include the Japan Record Award for Best Arrangement and many other prizes recognizing his role at the forefront of Japanese pop and club music.
