Kourin

Kourin is an acoustic unit based in Kyoto, formed as a male-female duo of vocalist Takane Yamamoto and guitarist Akihisa Yamaguchi. After forming in 1998 they made their major debut in 2003, becoming known for warm, folk-tinged textures and lyrics that breathe alongside narrative material. Their ending theme Aishiteru, written for the TV anime Natsume's Book of Friends and its sequel Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou, came to embody the bittersweet warmth of the bond between humans and youkai depicted in the series. With arrangement by Goro Ito, it stands as their signature work.
