Hachikuji Mayoi (Emiri Kato) is a character-billed unit for the TV anime Bakemonogatari produced by Shaft. Voice actress Emiri Kato, who plays the elementary-school ghost Mayoi Hachikuji, possessed by the lost-cow apparition, sings in character. The opening theme Kaerimichi (lyrics by meg rock, music and arrangement by Satoru Kosaki) is one of the per-heroine opening themes that became a Monogatari hallmark, shaped into a delicate pop number that mirrors Mayoi's youth, earnestness, and the central motif of finding her way home. It also marks an early form of the Kosaki–meg rock pairing that would define the franchise's sound.
