aya is a Japanese female vocalist who provided theme songs for multiple anime from the late 1990s into the 2000s, equally at home with bright catchy pop-rock and atmospheric ballads. She performed the opening theme That's Hyper Tension!! for the 1997 bounty-hunter action series Hyper Police, and the up-tempo opening HI! HO! for the 1999 sci-fi adventure Space Pirate Mito, mirroring the heroine's irrepressible energy. She also performed the ending theme OVER NIGHT, co-written with DAIKI KASHO, for Production I.G's 2006 gothic suspense Le Chevalier D'Eon, lending the pre-revolutionary Parisian drama a smoky, adult sense of unease.
