Akiko Wada is one of Japan's leading singers, known for hits such as Ano Kane wo Narasu no wa Anata and Furui Nikki. Her commanding voice and powerful presence have kept her at the forefront of Japanese popular music for many years. Her anime work includes REACH OUT, the opening theme of the TV Asahi anime Legendary Gambler Tetsuya, based on a mahjong manga. With lyrics by Kaori Moriwaka and music and arrangement by Hirofumi Asamoto, her soulful, bluesy vocals strongly framed the world of this series about men staking their lives on mahjong in postwar Japan.
