Takako Shirai is a Japanese female singer-songwriter from Fujisawa City in Kanagawa Prefecture. After studying music at Ferris University, she debuted via the Sony SD audition, and through the hit single 'Chance!' and her work as 'Takako Shirai & CRAZY BOYS' she came to be hailed as the 'Queen of Japanese Rock.' She is widely cited as a pioneer of Japanese female rock vocalists alongside Kumiko Yamashita and Ann Lewis, and in recent years she has also linked her artistic activity to environmental and community causes. In anime, she contributed 'Sora wo Miagete' to the 'You're Under Arrest' series and performed the ending theme 'Blooming Days' for 'You're Under Arrest: Second Season.' Handling lyrics, music and arrangement herself, she supplied refreshing, optimistic rock numbers that reinforce the warm world of the show.
