Ichiko Hashimoto is a Kobe-born pianist, composer, and vocalist whose musicality moves freely between jazz and contemporary music, with a distinctive world built on improvisation and singing. Mayumi Hashimoto is her younger sister and frequent collaborator. In anime, the sisters performed 'Yume no Tamago', the ending theme of 'RahXephon', a dreamlike ballad composed by Ichiko and co-written with director Yutaka Izubuchi. The song's lyricism resonates with the music-themed core of the sci-fi mecha series. Ichiko also composed the show's score and voiced the character Mamiya Kamina.
