Asakawa Hiroko is a female singer from Kawagoe in Saitama Prefecture who debuted on Nippon Columbia as an enka vocalist in 1985. She has also developed a parallel career as an anime-song performer, taking on the later opening theme 'Kirby!' (lyrics by Seiko Fujibayashi, composition by Kazutoyo Sato) for the TV anime 'Kirby: Right Back at Ya!' from episode 72 onward. She also sang the opening theme 'Mahotsukai Sally' for the 1989 TV anime 'Sally the Witch (1989),' with lyrics by Kiyoshi Yamamoto and composition by Asei Kobayashi — entrusted with theme songs for shows beloved across generations. Her bright tone and stable delivery have kept her active in family-friendly works for decades.
