Nishio Yuki is a female Japanese artist known as both an enka singer and an impressionist entertainer. Her signature anime-related work is a cover of 'Yatterman no Uta,' the opening theme for the 2008 TV anime 'Yatterman' — the single released in August 2008 included both a standard version and an 'enka version.' The original song was written by Ichiro Wakabayashi and Masayuki Yamamoto and composed by Yamamoto, with arrangement on her cover by Hideyuki Fukazawa. With its kobushi vibrato and Tsugaru-shamisen flourishes, it became the first time in the Yatterman franchise's history that an enka singer had been tapped to perform the opening, adding a fresh Japanese flavor to a beloved classic.
