the generous is a Japanese rock duo consisting of vocalist yoko and guitarist/composer/arranger Katsumi Onishi, who debuted in October 2008 with the mini-album 'the generous' on an Avex imprint. Their sound centres on crisp guitar work and yoko's open, sustained vocals, aimed at a direct, melodic rock style. In anime they are best known for two opening themes for 'Skip Beat!' - 'Dream Star' and 'Renaissance', both composed by Onishi - delivering upbeat rock tracks tuned to the optimism of the shoujo manga's show-business setting.
